About Open Shore Counselling
Inspired by the ocean’s calming and grounding presence—a reminder that healing comes in waves—I support families who are on the cusp of change. I offer practical, relational counselling to help navigate parenting stress, boundary challenges, and growth before burnout turns into crisis. I specialize in working with children and youth who struggle with anxiety, ADHD, ASD, or behavioural challenges in school settings. I provide parent coaching with strategies that empower caregivers and counselling support to help children become more confident, capable, and successful at school.
My aim isn’t just to reduce stress, but to create space for hope, clarity, steadiness, and meaningful change. If we work together, I’ll focus on understanding your needs and supporting your specific goals.
Our Work Together
Therapy with me is collaborative and strengths-based. I work from a person-centred and trauma-informed lens, integrating mindfulness, play therapy, emotionally focused therapy, attachment-based approaches, and cognitive behavioural strategies.
In practice, this means sessions are tailored to you. Some days may focus on practical tools and strategies; other days may involve exploring patterns, relationships, or emotional experiences more deeply. I aim to balance reflection with actionable steps, so you leave sessions with both insight and direction.
You can expect a space that is steady, thoughtful, and grounded—where growth happens at a pace that feels manageable.
Who I Work With
I support youth, adults, and families who are ready to make changes before stress becomes overwhelming. I also work directly with children and youth who have IEPs and need support coping with school stress. My work often includes parenting strategies for divorced or separating families; helping children and youth navigate living between two homes; school-related concerns; parent coaching around screen and phone boundaries; chronic stress; and supporting families who are impacted by a loved one’s substance use.
Many of the clients I work best with are seeking practical guidance while also wanting space to reflect, recalibrate, and strengthen connections within themselves and their relationships.
A Note on Fit
To ensure clients receive the most appropriate care, I do not specialize in acute trauma or PTSD, domestic or sexual violence, high-conflict family cases, or crisis intervention. If your needs fall within these areas, I’m happy to help guide you toward more specialized support.
